About the Role
We’re seeking a skilled Rig Technician to join our client’s oilfield operations team. This role is essential in maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting drilling equipment to ensure safe and efficient rig performance. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with oilfield rigs, strong mechanical knowledge, and a proven commitment to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operate, monitor, and maintain drilling rig equipment and machinery.
Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and necessary repairs on rig systems.
Assist in rig-up and rig-down procedures and equipment moves.
Support drilling operations by ensuring all equipment is functioning safely and efficiently.
Identify mechanical issues and collaborate with supervisors and mechanics to resolve problems quickly.
Adhere strictly to all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, inspections, and performance.
Work effectively as part of the rig crew to achieve operational goals.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification is a plus.
2+ years of oilfield or drilling rig experience preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of rig equipment and hydraulic systems.
Ability to work in physically demanding environments and adverse weather conditions.
Excellent communication skills and a safety-first mindset.
Willingness to work rotational schedules (e.g., 14/14 or 21/7).
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly.
Work in confined spaces, heights, and extended periods of standing or manual labor.
